"Food Logistics 2000" is the theme of the 109th annual convention of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW). The convention and trade show will be April 29-May 4, 2000, at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix AZ.

The general session May 1 will open with a presentation entitled "HyperChange: Winning at Warp Speed" by Pat Lynch, a business technology speaker. Another feature speaker will be cybersatirist Bob Hirshfeld. His satirical look at the digital age is entitled "Technology Bytes." Other sessions include:

* "The Leading Edge of Logistics and E-Commerce," a multimedia presentation focused on the public refrigerated warehouse (PRW) industry.

* "What Technology Is the PRW Customer Using and What Do They Need from the PRW?" presented by Refrigerated and Frozen Foods.

* "Technology in the PRW: Past, Present, and Future-A Case Study," presented by Atlas Cold Storage, Teklogix, Delfour Corp, and IBM.

* "E-Commerce: How the Web Food Retailers Are Developing Their Logistics," presented by Peapod Inc, Streamline, NetGrocer Inc, Webvan, Groceronline, HomeGrocer, et al.

The event also will include the 57th annual meeting of the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), IARW's partner in serving the global food industry.
