Al Cohn, director of new market development and engineering support for Pressure Systems International, has been named chairman of the Commercial Vehicle Maintenance Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). This committee will organize technical sessions related to the maintenance of commercial vehicles scheduled during the 2007 SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress and Exhibition, set for October 26-28 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Chicago IL.

The Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA) recently announced additions and reappointments to its board of directors. Newly elected to the 15-member board are Timothy G Kirk, vice-president of claims for Lincoln General Insurance, York PA; and Joel B Schechter, partner at Watson, Bennett, Colligan, Johnson & Schechter, Buffalo NY. The association re-elected TIDA President Paul Berne, senior vice-president of claims for the Lancer Insurance Co, Long Beach NY; and board members James M Dill, principal partner of The Dill Firm, Lafayette LA; and Jay R Starrett, partner at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, Milwaukee WI. TIDA also reappointed its secretary, Edward R Leonard, partner at Harrington, Foxx, Dubrow & Canter, Orange CA; and named a new treasurer, Richard W Ferretti, president of Transportation Program Administrators Inc, New Cumberland PA.
