Robinair Unit Handles Multiple Refrigerants
Robinair's Model 17800-2K is an all-in-one unit that recovers, recycles, and recharges R-143a, R-12, R-22, and other refrigerants. This means the same station can be used to service a reefer and the cab's air-conditioning system.
The 17800-2K is easy to use; a microprocessor controls all functions including evacuation time and refrigerant charge. Programming is done through a keypad with prompts providing direction. The station pulls refrigerant from the vehicle through the filter-dryer and into the tank. In most cases, this single pass provides adequate recycling, although manual recovery can be activated if needed. A 6-cfm VacuMaster vacuum pump pulls to the deep vacuum conditions necessary for adequate evacuation. The station then recharges by weight for greatest accuracy.
A lockout panel prevents mixing of refrigerants. It reveals either 1/4" SAE fittings for hoses or 1/2" Acme fittings. A self-clearing loop removes any residual refrigerant in the unit. Other features include a filter-drier capable of handling up to 1,000 pounds of refrigerant, a built-in manifold, and air purge. The station comes with two 50-lb tanks and three sets of charging hoses: one for R-134a, one for R-12, and one for other refrigerants using1/4" fittings.
