TRALA annual meeting to be held in Arizona

The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) leadership conference and 26th annual meeting is scheduled for March 31-April 4, 2004, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix AZ. More than 600 leaders in the vehicle renting and leasing industry are expected to attend, as well as several hundred representatives of manufacturers and suppliers.

This year's featured speakers include:

  • Gregory T Swienton, Ryder System Inc's chairman, president, and chief executive officer

  • Dr Martin Regalia, United States Chamber of Commerce chief economist

  • Steve Farber, who has helped businesses overcome fads including “empowerment” and “re-engineering”

  • Frank Abagnale, inspiration for the movie Catch Me If You Can

TRALA is also hosting two panel discussions. “Leasing's Place in the Economy: The Customer's Perspective” will feature leasing customers from the grocery and manufacturing industries. “Better Budgeting of Maintenance Program Costs: Identifying The True Costs of Your Maintenance Program” will consist of maintenance specialists from across the nation who will share their best practices.

North American Truck Show coming in April

The 2004 North American Truck Show will be held April 29-May 1 at the Baltimore (MD) Convention Center. The convention center is on Pratt Street on Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Plenty of attendee and exhibitor parking spots are available at Camden Yards, and big rigs can park for free. Admission to the event is also free. Show highlights include:

  • J J Keller business improvement seminars (access www.jjkeller.com/2004nats2)

  • “Expedited Trucking” resources and information (offered by ExpressTruck ing.com).

  • Stars and Stripes truck show

  • Ol' Blue USA Safety Center

  • Complimentary shuttle service to/from area TA Truck Stops (Interstate 95, Exit 57 and I-95 and Route 175, Jessup Exit 41A).

According to show director Greg Coughlin, the 2004 show will feature more than 600 exhibitors including medium- and heavy-duty truck manufacturers, body and trailer companies, and truck component and parts suppliers.
