Prime Inc, an international refrigerated, flatbed, and liquid bulk truckload carrier headquartered in Springfield MO, has announced the purchase of Salt Lake City UT-based C H Dredge & Co from its estate through the approval of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Founded in 1935, Dredge had been operating 65 company trucks and serving a host of customers, primarily throughout the western United States.

“The Dredge fleet will be incorporated into our existing fleet and operated as CHD Regional, a division of Prime Inc,” said Robert Low, president of Prime.

This is the second major acquisition for Prime since October 2002, when the company acquired the assets of Oklahoma City OK-based ROCOR International. That company now operates as the RTC division of Prime Inc and remains based at its original Oklahoma City terminal, which is leased by Prime as part of the purchase agreement.

Prime will maintain a terminal and operations in Salt Lake City.
