Pathmark Stores Inc has reported unaudited results for its fiscal first quarter ended April 30, 2005.
Sales for this quarter were $1.003 billion, an increase of 1.3% from $990.1 million in the first quarter a year earlier. Same-store sales rose 0.1% in the first quarter. The supermarket chain reported a net loss of $2.1 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2005 compared with a net loss of $1.8 million in the prior year’s first quarter.
Pathmark operates 142 supermarkets mainly in the New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
