SunOpta Inc purchases Hess Food Group
SunOpta Inc has completed the acquisition of all of the outstanding shares of Hess Food Group LLC of Chicago IL. The purchase price includes cash and contingent future payments.
A privately owned supplier of fruits and vegetables, Hess has revenues of approximately $4 million and focuses primarily on the quick-service and casual restaurant industries. The company manages more than 50 million pounds of raw and processed fruits and vegetables, sourced from qualified processors including SunOpta's processing facilities.
Hess will continue to operate independently, although it will now be supported by SunOpta's resources.
