United States Cold Storage of California (USCS) plans to spend about $14 million to add to its Tulare North freezer and dry storage space. This expansion in Tulare CA will increase space by 140,000 square feet (4 million cubic feet) and is expected to be completed by November 2005.
After the expansion, the facility will be able to accommodate another 100 million pounds of product per year. The Tulare plants are a warehouse for food products including ice cream, fruits, vegetables, and TV dinners.
USCS has 73 workers at its two sites in Tulare, and the expansion will add another 15 jobs. Storage space capacity at the sites is currently 9.5 million cubic feet.
