The United States Senate has confirmed Annette Sandberg as the next administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). She had been deputy administrator of the agency, as well as deputy administrator of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Sandberg has acted as FMCSA administrator since the first of 2003, when she replaced Joseph Clapp upon his retirement.
D J Gribbin has been named chief counsel for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Brigham A McCown has been appointed to that role for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Gribbin comes to FHWA from Koch Industries, where he had served as director of public sector business development since 1999. McCown joins FMCSA from the Dallas TX office of the law firm Winstead Sechrest & Minick PC, where he was a member of the firm's litigation and government affairs sections.
