SuperValu Inc and C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc have completed a previously announced asset exchange, in which SuperValu acquired the former Fleming CompaniesÕ Midwest operations from C&S, and C&S acquired SuperValuÕs New England operations.
The former Fleming Midwest operations mainly include customer supply agreements, inventory, trade names of Sentry Foods and Festival Foods, and real estate in La Crosse and Waukesha WI. SuperValu is providing services to these additional customers from its existing facilities in the Midwest.
C&SÕs newly acquired New England operations primarily consist of customer supply agreements; inventory; three owned distribution centers in Portland ME, Andover MA, and Cranston RI; and a closed, leased facility in Suffield CT. The company is servicing all customers of these facilities.
