E J Brooks Co has strengthened its position in Mexico with a planned new manufacturing facility, E J B de Mexico SA de CV, in Mexico City. By year-end, this facility will begin manufacturing and decorating E J Brooks' line of plastic seals.

Brooks has named the new distribution company Sealco as Mexican agent for the Brooks Family of Companies, including E J Brooks Co and subsidiaries Ekstrom Industries Inc. and Meter Devices Co Inc. A Mexico City-based agent/distributor, Sealco was founded in 2002 by Miguel Avila, former divisional manager of E J Brooks products for Fonkel Mexicana, which served as Brooks representative for the past 20 years.
