StowAway armrests facilitate sleeper access

Truckers who like the comfort of armrests but dislike squeezing through seats to move from the front of the cab to the sleeper area can rest easier. Sears Seating, a division of Sears Manufacturing Co, has added a new option to its line of Atlas seats in an effort to better accommodate drivers when moving between the two areas. The new StowAway armrests open more space to maneuver by lifting and folding the arms behind the back of the seat.

According to research by Anthrotech Inc for Sears Seating, fewer than half of the truckers who try can pass between standard truck seats even if they turn sideways. But with Atlas seats equipped with StowAway armrests, 100% can pass through, and 87% can pass without turning sideways. Atlas seats also are wider and deeper for more comfort.
