• Klinke sells its Angel Food line to Yarnell

    Searcy AR-based Yarnell Ice Cream Co has purchased the licensing rights to the Angel Food brand from Klinke Brothers Ice Cream Co.

    Searcy AR-based Yarnell Ice Cream Co has purchased the licensing rights to the Angel Food brand from Klinke Brothers Ice Cream Co, based in Memphis TN. The purchase amount was not disclosed.

    Under terms of the transaction, Yarnell will produce all Angel Food ice cream as of July 31, 2006. The Angel Food line will be distributed in Yarnell's seven-state distribution area, including Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, and western Tennessee. Klinke had distributed the products only in western Tennessee and Jackson MS.

    Proceeds from the licensing agreement will be used by Klinke to expand its Baskin-Robbins operation. About 30 Klinke employee positions will be terminated.
