ALK Completes Second Year of DoD Contract

ALK Associates has completed the second year of a five-year contract with the United States Department of Defense (DoD). ALK's PC*Miler was chosen in January 1998 as the worldwide standard distance calculation data and software for DoD's Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD).

Effective Oct 1, 2000, all North American motor carriers and logistics companies handling freight and personal property shipments for the DoD agreed to be bound by DTOD 14.1 mileage for payment and audit purposes. PC*Miler is the commercial version of DTOD. In a first-time mandate, DTOD also extends to all European personal property and household goods movements.
