A new microprocessor-based wire guidance system for the SP 3000 Series stockpicker has been introduced by Crown Equipment Corp. The new guidance system uses a four-step electronic calibration that requires approximately five to 10 minutes to complete and is performed via a Crown service terminal.
Additional features include:
- Four-coil sensor to improve acquisition ability. Bars feature a steel housing.
- Frequency independence. Broad-band technology enables the guidance system to operate on frequencies ranging from 5.2 kHz to 10 kHz without changing or modifying components.
- Diagnostic support, with hardware and software self-test and run-time monitors including a status code log.
- A manual steering mode alarm. The guidance system detects an active guide path wire; the alarm then sounds.
- Travel speed is automatically clamped to 1.8 mph until acquisition is complete. Speed is reduced to 1.5 mph when low or varied field strength is detected.
Available in four different models, SP 3000 Series stockpickers offer lifting heights from 126" to 312". The 3000 Series also has an exclusive three-step brake that modulates the brake force as the operator platform is elevated. For more information, contact Crown, New Bremen OH 45869.
