Total Logistics Group has chosen the patented Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology from SkyBitz for the more than 175 trailers in its fleet.
Headquartered in Vaudreuil, Quebec, Total Logistics Group is employing SkyBitz GLS 200 trailer tracking technology primarily to enhance security for every shipment. By using the SkyBitz Smart Sensor Tracking technology, the carrier can automatically filter out each trailer's non-essential starts and stops and only receive reports on actionable information such as load arrival and departure times.
The SkyBitz technology also has the capability to trigger an alert if anyone opens a trailer door without permission.
Besides the security features, Total Logistics Group chose SkyBitz based on the user-friendliness of the technology and the ease of installation for tracking units. The system will also enable the carrier to increase operational efficiencies and reduce trailer-to-tractor ratio.
