CARRIER TRANSICOLD recently recognized its dealers with annual awards for outstanding achievement in 2001 despite the challenges brought about by a downturn in the entire trucking industry. Awards were presented to dealers in four categories: Dealer of the Year, New Dealer of the Year, Pacesetter, and Pacesetter Winner's Circle.
“This was a trying year for the entire trucking industry,” said Mark Cywilko, Carrier's vice-president of Truck/Trailer North America. “Our dealers put in exceptional effort to surmount this economic hurdle and post gains.”
Carrier Transicold of Detroit earned the Dealer of the Year award for outstanding overall performance and sales growth. This is the fourth time the Detroit dealership has received the Dealer of the Year award from Carrier. Previous awards were presented in 1978, 1980, and 1985.
Carrier Transicold of Detroit also was honored with the central region Pacesetter award and the Pacesetter Winner's Circle award. Pacesetter is the continuous improvement program for the Carrier dealer network. It focuses on business objectives including sales, service, parts, and customer satisfaction. The winner's circle award recognizes dealerships that attain 100% of their goals for the year.

Kile Truck Refrigeration, Nashville, Tennessee, received the southern region Pacesetter award, along with a Pacesetter Winner's Circle award.
