More than 27,000 individual United States-based trucking firms are listed by Transportation Technical Services (TTS) in a new 1,982-page National Motor Carrier Directory. The new 2001 edition reflects firms with 1.1 million trucks and tractors, 1.8 million trailers, plus $166.3 billion in revenue.

Each profile offers chief executive officer name and title, headquarters address, motor carrier and DOT number, Standard Carrier Alpha Code and revenues, plus the specific number of trucks, tractors, and trailers owned or leased, as well as commodities transported.

More than 6,700 toll-free and 19,000 fax numbers; 10 trailer types; TL or LTL; the year firm was established; plus common, contract, and broker authority are included.

The directory is available in a single volume for $295 (US funds); additional copies are $95 each. Individual state editions, plus all companies or any portion on CD-ROM (as few as 1,500 companies) are available.
