In the wake of the Sept 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington DC, associates of LTL carrier and logistics provider Averitt Express have made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund. The donation will help the Red Cross in its efforts to provide emergency relief and supplies to the families of disaster victims and those assisting with ongoing search and rescue efforts in New York and Washington.

According to Cookeville TN-based Averitt, the donation was made from money collected through the company's associate-giving organization, Averitt Cares, which is financed 100% by voluntary contributions from employees.
