Sysco supplies higher fiscal earnings totals

For the fiscal fourth quarter that ended July 2, Houston TX-based foodservice distribution giant Sysco Corp reported earnings of $284.7 million. This was a 2.3% gain to 44 cents per share compared with $280.6 million, or 43 cents a share, the same period a year ago. Revenue for the 2005 fiscal fourth quarter totaled $7.98 billion, a decline from $8.14 billion for the period a year earlier.

Sysco tallied revenue of $30.3 billion for the full fiscal year 2005, about 5.3% more than the $29.3 billion in sales a year ago.
