AFP rewards Dole's outstanding service

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater San Fernando Valley chapter celebrated its National Philanthropy Day recently and presented Dole Food Co Inc with the Outstanding Corporation Award for 2006.

Dole Food Company won the award for its commitment to supporting nutrition, health, and wellness-related programs such as community-based charities and fitness events in cultural organizations, schools, and charitable organizations where its employees and their families participate.

National Philanthropy Day acknowledges the spectrum of services provided by the non-profit community and recognizes the impact that philanthropy has on society.

AFP represents more than 27,000 members in 180 chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China working to advance philanthropy.
