Morgan Corp has started developing truck body prototypes designed specifically for Internet grocers.

Craig Fisher, vice-president of marketing of the Pennsylvania-based company, said Internet grocers want a compact truck body with an eyecatching appearance. Fisher said the grocers prefer trucks that are small enough to deliver to neighborhoods, yet large enough to handle the job.

The prototypes are refrigerated units with features such as subframes that are lower than existing models. One prototype, built specifically for an unnamed Morgan West Coast customer, has fiberglass fairings on the roof and between the cab and truck body, giving the unit a sleek, aerodynamic look.
