DCI Cheese Co in Mayville WI plans to close in March 2007, with 175 employees losing their positions. The company supplies specialty domestic and imported cheeses nationwide.

After the 2006 holiday season, staggered layoffs at the plant will proceed until it closes in March, according to Tim Omer, the firm's chief executive officer.

Cutting and wrapping performed at the Mayville plant will be transferred to DCI's Green Bay WI plant, which serves as the company's foodservice headquarters.

DCI acquired the Mayville facility, formerly a part of Con Agra, in August 2006.
