    A group of equity funds has purchased from ConAgra Foods the assets of MaMa Rosa’s Pizza.

    A group of equity funds has purchased from ConAgra Foods the assets of MaMa Rosa’s Pizza. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

    This acquisition consists of the MaMa Rosa brand and related assets, along with a 158,000-square-foot production plant in Sidney OH that has about 250 workers. The firm produces refrigerated pizza under the MaMa Rosa’s, Mama Angelina’s, and Our Old Italian brands.

    The name of the new company will be MaMa Rosa's LLC.

    Plaza Belmont Fund II LLC, a private equity fund focused on acquiring food manufacturing firms, was joined in the purchase by other Kansas City-area funds MidStates Capital LP, Kansas Venture Capital Inc, and Lewis and Clark Private Equities LP. Jefferson Capital Partners I LP of New Orleans LA and New York-based Critical Capital Growth Fund LP also were part of the transaction.
