AFFI will manage environmental conference
The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) will assume management of the Environmental Engineering in the Food Processing Industry Conference in 2003. This conference addresses environmental concerns facing the food processing industry. AFFI will handle marketing, registration, and housing for the conference, which previously was managed by the United Engineering Foundation Inc. The next Environmental Engineering Conference is March 17-20, 2003, in Tampa FL.
AFFI is the founder and chairing organization of the Food Industry Environmental Council (FIEC), which will sponsor the conference. A coalition of more than 50 food processors and food trade associations that represent more than 15,000 facilities across the nation, FIEC generates hundreds of billions of dollars in sales and employs about 1.5 million people.
The Environmental Engineering Conference unites environmental and energy managers from food and beverage companies with representatives from academia, government, food industry trade associations, the legal profession, equipment suppliers, and environmental consultants.
Besides printed marketing pieces, AFFI will create a section for FIEC on its web site, www.AFFI.com, which will contain promotional materials and information on the conference.
