Engine diagnostics to help identify and prevent maintenance problems.
Fault descriptions to maximize vehicle warranty and pinpoint malfunctions.
Separate driving fuel from idle fuel data to reduce state fuel taxes.
Driver behavior data to improve driver and public safety, and to help lower insurance rates.
The J1708 Vehicle Diagnostics service includes an in-vehicle J1708 connector, data translator, and a serial connection to the @Road iLM (Internet Location Manager). Engine performance and driver behavior data is collected from a vehicle's electronic control module, transmitted by the iLM over the wireless networks to the @Road data center, and then processed into meaningful information to produce real-time and historical reports such as trip detail, trip summary, and exception reports. @Road also plans to add OBDII support to provide similar reports for smaller vehicles such as vans and pickups. www.road.com
