ALK Technologies Inc, developers of routing, mileage, mapping, and GPS navigation systems; and Qualcomm Inc, provider of mobile communications for the transportation industry, have joined forces to expand their offerings amid a growing concern for safety and security of commercial vehicles, drivers, and their cargo. ALK's FleetCommander product will interface with Qualcomm's satellite-based OmniTRACS mobile communications system to provide a seamless homeland security system.
