Marten ends 2005 on a prosperous note

Marten Transport Ltd, the Mondovi WI-based refrigerated carrier, announced its financial and operating results for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec 31, 2005.

For the 2005 fourth quarter, net income increased 36.6% to $7.1 million from $5.2 million for the same quarter of 2004. Operating revenue for the 2005 fourth quarter climbed 18.6% to $125.4 million from $105.7 million for the comparable quarter of 2004.

For the year ended Dec 31, 2005, net income surged 42.9% to $25.1 million from $17.5 million for 2004. Operating revenue for 2005 gained 21.1% to $460.2 million from $380.0 million for 2004.
