WELLS' Dairy Inc is the world's largest family-owned and managed dairy processor, producing more than 500 Blue Bunny branded fresh and frozen dairy products.

Headquartered in Le Mars, Iowa, Wells' Dairy is a leader in delighting customers with more flavors, more variety, and more of the good stuff in everything it makes. In fact, Le Mars is the “Ice Cream Capital of the World” because more ice cream is made there by one company than any other single place on earth.

When Fred H Wells purchased the milk delivery business in Le Mars, Iowa, in 1913, he never envisioned the company would one day distribute hundreds of products across the U.S. and internationally.

Since that time, the colossally creative artisans at Wells' Dairy, Inc — the largest family-owned and managed dairy processor in the United States — have been hard at work putting all things chunky, chewy, rich, and gooey into their ice cream.

With its state-of-the-art production facilities, the company is cited by many industry experts as one of the most technically advanced in the industry. The company manufactures and packages more than 2,000 products in almost every size, shape, style, and flavor imaginable — from ice cream and frozen novelties to fresh dairy products such as milk, yogurt, and sour cream.

Hoping to inspire consumers to purchase Blue Bunny, Wells' Dairy put enjoyable graphics on 20 of the 200 trailers in their fleet, with the intent to outfit all trailers with the graphics over time.

Wells' Dairy's graphic design team developed over 50 different options and then chose six designs to share with the motoring public on the trailers. Designers were inspired by the overall fun of the Blue Bunny brand along with the product, ice cream which puts a smile on everyone's face. The catching blue background along with the scoops of ice cream invite consumers to try the product the next time they go to the grocery store. The trailers show consumers exactly what they will get when they purchase Blue Bunny.

Lowen Color Graphics out of Hutchinson, Kansas, was chosen for the production of the graphics because of their high quality and reasonable cost. Wells' Dairys transportation department applies the graphics to the trailers.

The Blue Bunny brand was born in 1935 after the Wells brothers held a “Name That Ice Cream” contest in the Sioux City Journal. A Sioux City man won the $25 cash prize after submitting the winning entry along with his rendition of the original Blue Bunny character.

Today, ice cream aficionados throughout all 50 states, Mexico, and Puerto Rico can choose from more than 500 tantalizingly tasty Blue Bunny ice cream flavors, frozen dairy desserts, and delectable novelties.

Next time you see a Blue Bunny trailer on the road, the company hopes you'll be inspired to try Blue Bunny ice cream.
