Allen Canning Co, based in Siloam Springs AR, intends to acquire five frozen vegetable production plants from Birds Eye Foods. Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. About 700 employees serve at the plants in Fairwater WI; Montezuma GA; and Bergen, Brockport, and Oakfield NY.
These plants process fresh vegetables and package them for sale by retail companies including Kroger, Wal-Mart, and Albertson's.
