DSC Logistics teams up with Tootsie Roll

DSC Logistics has signed a two-year contract with Tootsie Roll Industries, one of the nation's largest candy companies, for its first regional distribution center (RDC) in DSC's Allentown PA Logistics Center.

A supply chain management company, DSC developed a system that includes refrigerated storage, a flexible storage footprint to adapt to Tootsie Roll's seasonal volumes, a dynamic pick line to maximize productivity in their high case pick environment, and procedures to export product to Canada and Mexico. The company will receive product from Tootsie Roll plants in Chicago IL, Covington TN, and Toronto, Canada. DSC is also working with Tootsie Roll to develop several more systems to address supply chain efficiencies.
