Two additions to Hyster Co's line of walkie pallet trucks — the 4,000-lb W40Z and 4,500-lb W45Z — provide maneuverability in confined warehousing and distribution facilities. A 24-volt electrical system helps material handlers more efficiently turn stock, load trailers, and transport receivables short distances.

The truck has a bottom-mounted handle that enables ergonomic actuation when moving products in tight spots, such as turning a load inside a trailer. A “turtle or creep” speed button on the back of the handle allows an operator to actuate the truck using either thumb with the handle in its fully raised position. Ergonomically angled handgrips and a contoured truck body help protect fingers and knuckles.

The W40Z offers 110V AC-optional charging for smaller retail applications. When charging, the truck's electrical system is disabled to prevent accidental operation. The built-in hinged convenience tray provides adequate ventilation to protect the work environment from the battery gases naturally produced during charging. This tray also improves battery serviceability.
