Pilot Travel Centers and IdleAire Technologies Corp have signed an exclusive long-term agreement allowing installation of IdleAire Advanced Travel Center Electrification (ATE) technology in the truck parking lots of every current and future Pilot-owned travel center across the nation.

The first locations are already in the planning stages and are expected to be installed in California, Indiana, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Arkansas in the next several months.

IdleAire has already signed approximately 50,000 drivers, allowing them to turn off their engines and use in-cab accessories while they rest. The system has been installed in 12 locations with 535 parking spaces. IdleAire estimates that it has already been used by drivers more than 72,000 times, totaling nearly one million hours of use, has reduced diesel emissions by more than 9,000 tons, and conserved approximately one million gallons of diesel fuel.
