Once limited to mass-transit vehicles, digital video recorders are being introduced to school district bus fleets. All audio and video is stored on industrial-grade mobile-rated removable hard drives for weeks without overwriting old data.

Safety Vision's RoadRecorder 5000 records at a resolution of 720 × 486 — double the resolution of a VCR. With digital, a video search by time/date can be performed. Point-and-click mouse maneuvers replace fast-forwarding. With digital, it's harder to tamper with footages. Safety Vision's patented encryption video can be used as admissible evidence in a court of law.
