Gordon Food Service (GFS) plans to implement a new 120,000-square-foot distribution operation in Greenville SC. The foodservice distributor first will acquire and expand an 82,000-sq-ft building on a 30-acre location in Greenville.

The facility is expected to be operating in early 2007 with about 50 new jobs initially; employment likely will increase in the next five years.

Founded in 1897, the company provides more than 15,000 GFS and nationally branded products to more than 45,000 customers in the United States and Canada. There are also 115 GFS Marketplace retail stores in operation.
