Freightliner is shutting down Western Star Trucks' plant in North Charleston SC six months after it opened for business.

According to Freightliner spokeswoman Debi Nicholson, the company is planning to close the plant by December 11.

"It will be closed down and mothballed until the market picks up and we need the capacity again, or when we find a different product to build in that plant," Nicholson said.

The plant was shut down for three weeks in August, before Freightliner took over Western Star.
