A product from Truck-Lite Co Inc stabilizes headlamp current and eliminates lamp-destroying voltage spikes. The new Headlamp Life Extender controls voltage and limits output voltage (input to the headlamp) to 12.8 volts.

Designed as a solid-state device, the Headlamp Life Extender comes hard-wired for simplified installation and resists shock and vibration. Each measures 3⅛" long by 2⅝" wide by 1¼" high. Wiring is color-coded to match ground, low-beam, and high-beam connections. The unit operates with systems up to 18 volts. Stall-up is “soft,” reducing current shock to headlamps. Lamps reach full current in 200 milliseconds (±10%) after switching lamps on.

The Headlamp Life Extender reduces electrical noise by eliminating arcs in the headlight circuit. This improves performance of all vehicle electronic devices, from radios and entertainment systems to engine computers and ABS controllers.

IntraUSA and Truck-Lite jointly developed this product for Truck-Lite's use. Based in Tukwila WA, IntraUSA designs and develops products based on its proprietary semiconductor technology. For more details, contact Truck-Lite, 310 E Elmwood Ave, Falconer NY 14733.
