• Volvo Global Trucks Announces New Leaders

    As part of the restructuring program announced Sept 28, 2001, Volvo Global Trucks has announced a new organization designed to maximize operating efficiency of its two North American operating units, Mack Trucks Inc and Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA). Mack and VTNA will maintain separate headquarters, each with its own management and all functions necessary to deliver brand-specific products and services.

    However, several functions will be brought under common leadership, reporting to Michel Gigou, president and chief executive officer of VTNA. While leaders of these functions will be based at VTNA headquarters in Greensboro NC, each will have personnel in Allentown PA to support Mack management. These personnel will lead support functions:

    • Terrence C Grube has been named vice-president-legal. He most recently was Mack executive vice-president, general counsel, and secretary.

    • Göran R Gustafsson has been chosen vice-president-customer engineering. He was formerly Mack vice-president-customer engineering.

    • Sam Johnston is the new vice-president-dealer development. He had served as director-dealer development at VTNA.

    • Rikard Jonsson has been named senior vice-president of parts sales and marketing. He most recently was general manager of Volvo Parts South America in Brazil.

    • Marc J Kalbermatten has been appointed vice-president-IS/IT. He had served as vice-president-IT.

    • Mark T McLaughlin has been named senior vice-president-human resources. He served most recently as senior vice-president-human resources and administration.

    • John Mies has been named vice-president-communications, having previously served as Mack's vice-president-communications.

    • Harold W Wiegel, appointed vice-president-customer satisfaction, had been VTNA vice-president-customer support.
