• NFRA elects officers, board of directors

    The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) elected its officers and board of directors for 2002-2003 at its annual membership meeting

    The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) elected its officers and board of directors for 2002-2003 at its annual membership meeting and luncheon in Orlando FL. This meeting was held in conjunction with the National Frozen Food Convention.

    Bob Smith, division vice-president for customer development, Nestle USA, has been elected NFRA chairman of the board. He has been active in the association for many years, serving as a director from 1997-1999, as secretary from 2000-2001, and as chairman-elect from 2001-2002. Smith is also a member of The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats. He succeeds Daryl Mills, director — strategy/business process for Winn-Dixie Stores Inc.

    Other officers sworn in at the meeting are: Brian K Nichols, Marsh Supermarkets LLC, chairman-elect; Johnny L Harris, Harris Teeter Inc, secretary; Rich Seban, Highliner Foods, treasurer; Ray Tarnowski, Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, vice-chairman — foodservice; John Bottomley, Sargento Foods, vice-chairman — refrigerated; and John Annetta, White Rose Frozen Food Co, vice-chairman — frozen.

    Newly elected to the board of directors are: Steve Dunphy, Land O' Lakes Inc; Mary Kate Harrison, Hillsborough County Schools; Jim O'Sullivan, Mrs Smith's Bakeries LLC; Philip Payment, Winn-Dixie Stores; Michael R Riley, Pocono Produce Co Inc; Robert Rosales, ConAgra Frozen Foods; and Ray Trapp, J R Simplot Co.

    Elected for a second term on the board are: Stan Ashley, Quality Sales & Marketing; Brian Berger, General Mills; Richard N Finkbeiner, CS Integrated LLC; John T McIntyre, Sysco Corp; Charles G Robertson, FFE Transportation Services; Ron Suchecki, Ateeco Inc/Mrs T's Pierogies; Judson R Wells, The Kroger Co; and Joel Westrate, Spartan Stores Inc.
