Trans Ocean Carrier selects FreightDATA

FreightDATA Software's transportation software system has been purchased and installed by Trans Ocean Carrier Inc, a harbor drayage firm based in Long Beach CA. The FreightDATA system will be used in most daily operations and accounting functions.

This software is designed to handle management and operation of small to medium-size transportation companies. FreightDATA's drayage software package allows flexibility and control in all stages of freight movement in and out of the harbor by creating and maintaining personalized customer ratings for harbor consignee and back, or whatever combination of rates are applicable. The system provides a package that includes multiple dispatch modules, rating, billing, and accounting.

Trans Ocean previously used a generic, custom DOS-based system. With increased growth — volume of movements averages about 3,000 per week — the firm found the DOS-based system too cumbersome and unsophisticated for automation.
