Transportation Technical Services (TTS) now offers the 2000-2001 edition of The Private Fleet Directory database. The work includes complete individual company demographics on more than 26,000 firms that are the proprietary transport, distribution, or service arms of companies not in the trucking business but that haul 80% of the nation's freight. Each operates 10 or more trucks and/or tractors. More than three million trucks, tractors, and trailers are reflected in the 1,800-page print version.

Each private-fleet profile is new and features company name; fleet headquarters address; fleet type; number of trucks, tractors, and trailers; trailer types; equipment operated in GVW Classes 1-8; if maintenance is performed at the facility; plus name, title, phone, and fax number of the decisionmaker who manages fleet operations and specifies equipment. Definitive Standard Industrial Classification Codes (SIC) for each company, plus web site and e-mail addresses are included.

The directory is available in a single volume for $295, plus $12 for shipping and handling. Additional copies are $95 each, plus individual state editions are offered. All of the complete database is available on disk or CD-ROM to match a company's precise market focus. Database inquiries are free.
