Kenworth Truck Co has made Dana Spicer's Low Maintenance System (LMS) bearing and seal package standard on the front steering axle for all new Kenworth Class 8 and T300 medium-duty conventional models.

The LMS hub package includes Timken half-tolerance bearings, a precision bearing spacer, and Dana Spicer Outrunner oil seals. ConMet aluminum hubs offer close-tolerance machining for bearing seats, helping to ensure precise spacing of the bearings.

Benefits include expected longer bearing life, longer seal life, and better bearing control. Wheel-end maintenance is reduced, since bearings do not need adjustment for three years or 350,000 miles, unless disturbed. Aluminum alloy hubs offer a 22-lb weight savings. The LMS bearing and seal package carries a three-year, 350,000-mile warranty.
