Birds Eye Foods sells Mexican facility

Birds Eye Foods Inc has sold its Celaya, Mexico, manufacturing facility and all of its equipment to Congelados Don Jose SPR de RL (CDJ), a Mexican-based producer of vegetables.

Birds Eye Foods Inc, manufacturer and marketer of frozen vegetables, has sold its Celaya, Mexico, manufacturing facility and all of its equipment to Congelados Don Jose SPR de RL (CDJ), a Mexican-based producer of vegetables.

In connection with the sale, Rochester NY-based Birds Eye has entered into a 10-year supply agreement with CDJ for various frozen vegetables, including broccoli and cauliflower. Current employees will remain with the facility.

Birds Eye, which has sales of approximately $900 million annually, processes fruits and vegetables in 14 facilities across the nation.
