ArvinMeritor Inc's Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) trailer systems (axle and suspension) manufacturing site in Wrexham, United Kingdom, has opened a 90-day redundancy consultation process with its union, AMICUS, and non-union elected staff representatives. About 199 employees responsible for trailer axle and suspension assemblies at the Wrexham facility could be affected by this process.

Several alternative manufacturing locations have been identified, and a final decision on the new site will be announced soon. The company emphasized its continued commitment to and investment in the European trailer axle and suspension business.

Besides the potentially affected manufacturing and functional employee base, about 25 employees will remain at the facility providing product design, engineering, sales, and business support to customers until alternatives are found.
