SuperValu's Save-A-Lot banner, the nation's largest limited-assortment grocery chain, will open four stores in the Pacific Northwest in September, including two in the Portland OR area as well as stores in Tacoma and Pasco WA.

Save-A-Lot's entrance into the Pacific Northwest will be supported by a new distribution center in Portland, set to open in September. These openings represent the first phase of Save-A-Lot's expansion into the region. Save-A-Lot currently has more than 1,100 stores in 42 states.

With annual sales approaching $40 billion, SuperValu has about 2,500 retail grocery locations. Through its nationwide supply chain network, the company provides distribution and related logistics support services to more than 5,000 grocery retail endpoints.
