Foley Services Inc has released an audio training program on new federal requirements for CDL (commercial driver license) holders. According to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) estimates, the requirements will result in tens of thousands of disqualifications and suspensions each year.

Under these requirements, which took effect Sept 30, 2002, CDL holders can be disqualified or have their licenses canceled, revoked, or suspended for offenses they commit in private passenger vehicles. FMCSA has added a mandatory 30-day suspension for drivers found to pose an imminent hazard, in addition to other new offenses, which include a driver failing to have his or her CDL in his or her possession when operating a commercial motor vehicle. CDL holders will also be responsible for reporting their driving record as far back as 10 years.

Foley's training program discusses the new disqualifying offenses and other offenses. This program also covers new application and reporting procedures for CDL holders, what happens to drivers if their state is decertified, and changes to employer and state licensing procedures and recordkeeping practices.

The training is the latest edition to Foley's Learn While You Drive audio series ($24.95 cassette/$29.95 compact disc.) Discounts are available when ordering multiple copies. To order or for more information, phone 800-253-5506, ext 273; fax 860-652-3470, or write Foley, 124 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury CT 06033.
