Schepps Dairy is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for murdering 84-year-old Johnnie Daniel in Houston TX recently. The woman is the great-aunt of Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen.
The Dallas TX-based dairy also is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the recent slaying of a Houston convenience store clerk. Hassan Tanvir Alam, 24, was shot twice in the chest during a robbery and died at the scene at a southeast Houston service station. Customers discovered Alam behind the counter.
In 2005, Dean Foods, which purchased Schepps and now operates the reward program, offered $401,000 in rewards nationwide. It paid $73,166 for tips in which arrests were made or judicial action occurred.
The program was established in 1973, when a Schepps convenience store employee in Dallas was killed during a robbery. Company founder Harmon Schepps offered a cash reward for information after the Dallas police came up empty in trying to solve the crime.
