Sysco Food Services of Columbia will invest about $25 million in the next five years to expand its operations at a South Carolina facility.

This expansion in southeast Richland County likely will add 114 jobs, bringing the distribution center's employee total to about 500 after expansion. The firm will add more than 135,000 square feet of space to the 266,000-sq-ft facility.

Based in Houston TX, Sysco distributes food products to restaurants, health care facilities, hotels, and schools. Its sales for 2005 reportedly totaled $31.4 billion.
