Gunite Corp has announced that, as of October 2003, International Truck and Engine Corp has specified its new, lighter-weight disc wheel hubs as standard on all International 9000 Series Class 8 trucks, and other vehicles using a 23,000-lb drive axle.

“The new specification will result in a weight reduction of 18 pounds per drive axle over the previously utilized disc wheel hubs,” said Thomas Splinter vice-president — sales and marketing with Gunite.
