Davisco Foods International, Lake Norden SD, has broken ground for a new $40-million mozzarella cheese plant in Lake Norden. It will add 60 new jobs to the 90 jobs already in place at the adjacent food ingredient plant. The cheese plant will take in up to five million pounds of milk a day. Cheese from the plant will be marketed by Land O' Lakes Inc. Construction will take 15 to 18 months.
